See, I recently realized that the computer I have that has Dreamweaver on it tends to crash if I ask it to do so much as open an attachment, so until I get CoffeeCup or whatever I end up settling on going, I can't even update it. And this MT install is ancient, and may go down on me when Markus does the server migration in a few weeks, and I tried installing the new version of MT for comment spam reasons (and because who uses a CMS that was last updated in 2004? besides me?) but that just made me cranky and frustrated and I couldn't do it. Also, the shortcuts that let me create the thumbnailed pictures in Picasa, edit them in Dreamweaver, and then go to command line to type one line for some magic that adjusted pointers and uploaded and then let me do my final proof in w.bloggar - well, that also lives on the crashing computer, and my supply of computer dudes who have both the time and inclination to fix things for me has dwindled in recent years...
Which is a roundabout way of saying, I'm sort of updating stuff, but in a very lackadaisical way. If, for instance, you want to see pictures from our bike trip last summer, you should go here. I haven't captioned them yet, but whatever. I did get around to uploading and captioning my own pictures from the Sibley-Rossport trip, they are here.
This means that I spent some time looking at a portion of the fun of the summer that was. And now I miss it, and earlier in the calendar year than I can remember... ever. Of course, the last two years I was heading to Asia in November or December, so that probably distracted me, but still... how can I already be looking at summer pictures and get that pathetic wistful thing going on?
('course, I did just add to my boat fleet. It's also a record period of time between buying a boat and being able to take it on the water, no? And it's not a Romany, it's this and I know that's a lot of boat for me but do you know how much beer we could carry on a trip if Kevin took his Ascente and I took the Quest and we kept all the gear the same? Do you? Let me tell you this: this new boat has 40L more cargo space than my old one. Add to that: we carried probably 10L of beer between the two of us on Superior, plus all the other gear we needed, and it fit with the GTS and the Ascente. So 10L + 40L = really frickin excessive even by our standards. Also, the boat is used, and a superb deal, and I don't have it in my hot little hands yet which is fine because I also have not reconfigured the garage wall to give it its own cradles yet...)
